Web design in Hythe and Dibden Purlieu

Websites for businesses in Hythe, Dibden Purlieu, Marchwood, Holbury and Fawley — designed and built by a web designer based on the Waterside.

A web designer on the Waterside, not across the water

Avent Marketing is based in Hythe. If your business is in Hythe, Dibden Purlieu, Marchwood, Holbury or Fawley, I can be at your premises in a few minutes — no trip round the A326 or over on the ferry to sit in an agency's meeting room in Southampton.

You deal with me from the first conversation to the day the site goes live, and after it. I design it, build it, write the structure for search, host it and look after it. There's no account manager and no junior handed your project once the contract's signed.

Most Waterside businesses I work with are trades, garages, shops, pubs and local services — businesses whose customers live within a few miles and find them on a phone. So the sites are built for that: fast, clear, and set up to turn up when somebody nearby searches for what you do.

What you get

  • A custom website design, not a template with your logo on it
  • Local SEO built in: your towns, your services, schema and a matching Google Business Profile
  • Fast, secure hand-coded websites or a WordPress site you can update yourself
  • Ecommerce websites for shops that sell online and over the counter
  • A fixed price agreed before any work starts
  • Meetings at your place, in Hythe or wherever on the Waterside suits you

Getting a Hythe business found on Google

Search "web design Hythe" and half of page one is about Hythe in Kent. That's not a quirk of my trade — it happens to every business here. Google has two Hythes to choose between, and unless your website tells it plainly which one you mean, a customer in Dibden Purlieu can end up looking at a plumber in Folkestone.

So a Waterside website has to place itself properly:

  • Say where you are in full — Hythe, Southampton, SO45, the Waterside — in the copy, the page titles and the structured data, not just in the footer
  • Name the villages you cover — Dibden Purlieu, Marchwood, Holbury, Blackfield and Fawley each get searched on their own, and a site that never mentions them won't be shown for them
  • A Google Business Profile that matches the website — same name, same area, same services, and real reviews. On "near me" searches the map pack sits above every website, so this is often the bigger win
  • A page for each service you want enquiries for, so there's somewhere relevant for each search to land

That's what the local SEO side of the job covers, and it's built into every site rather than sold as an extra. For a garage like Badminstons that means a page for each job — MOT, servicing, diagnostics — as the garage website design page explains.

Areas I cover on the Waterside

  • Hythe — the High Street, the Marsh and Shore Road, through to Applemore and Butts Ash
  • Dibden Purlieu and Dibden
  • Marchwood
  • Holbury, Blackfield and Langley
  • Fawley and out towards Calshot

Further afield, I also cover Totton and New Forest web design, and right across Hampshire, including web design in Southampton.

Frequently asked

Kevin Leftwich thinking
Are you actually based in Hythe?
Yes. Avent Marketing is based in Hythe, Southampton, and has been building websites for local businesses since 2010. I work from home rather than an office, so I come to you — anywhere in Hythe, Dibden Purlieu, Marchwood, Holbury or Fawley is a short drive.
Can we meet in person?
Yes, and on the Waterside it's easy. I'll come to your shop, workshop or office, or we can do it over the phone with a shared screen if that suits you better.
How much does a website cost for a small Hythe business?
It depends on the number of pages and whether you sell online. A small trade or brochure site costs far less than a shop with hundreds of products. You get a fixed price once I know what you need, and it doesn't change unless the job does.
Why does my business not show up when people in Hythe search for it?
Usually three things: the website doesn't say clearly enough that it's Hythe in Hampshire, it doesn't name the villages you cover, and the Google Business Profile is missing, thin or doesn't match the site. All three can be fixed, and a new site can be built with them right from the start.
Do you only work on the Waterside?
No. Most of my clients are between the Waterside, Totton, the New Forest and Southampton, but I build for businesses across Hampshire and further afield too.
